Very Addictive Game
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this game!! Very addictive. It would be nice if it came with a bag or something to hold the marbles, which are very easy to lose. This game is easy to learn and keeps your mind working :-)

Fun and creative teaching tool
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my 9 and 4 yr old children. My 9 yr old just loves it and she caught on with very little instruction. When I play with my 4 yr old she is able to contribute to figuring out where each color goes. I wish this game had a better storage system. The only durable part of the packaging is the bottom. The little colored balls are very easy to loose and if just one is lost it would be hard to play this game. Other than that we’ve had some real fun with this game. It is good to watch my 9 yr old use reasoning and logic in a colorful creative way. She’s doing math and doesn’t even realize it!

hours of fun..for one or more people
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was introduced to this game by my sister who uses it in a classroom for high school children with learning disabilities. I have an acquired brain injury and am always looking to stimulate my thinking. Although, I thought sudoku puzzles were to hard and i would never be able to do this. The coloku has cards to set up games with in levels from easy to exteme. My daughter, who is a math teacher can do the extreme. Needless to say I can’t. The whole family can play as well. I am hooked on colorku.

I’m Hooked!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was a great buy! I’m a sudoku addict and I find it’s even more fun than a standard sudoku! I leave the board and a started puzzle out on my coffee table (it’s good quality wood so it looks great on it), and I put all the balls in a bowl. I play alone a lot, but when friends or family are hanging out in the living room, we take turns completing the puzzles together. The kit comes with 104 cards for setting up puzzles, but it also gives you a code so you can “translate” any traditional number sudoku from newpapers, books, or wherever, into this version that uses colors. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and it arrived faster than listed. I would buy this as a gift for any sudoku lover.

Great Family Game

This game is great! I love the color spin on Sudoku – my sons and I can all play together. I would suggest that you purchase a bag to hold the sudoku balls so they don’t get lost.

colorku is great!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I tried soduko many times and couldn’t get my head around it. I kept trying to add the numbers… I tried colorku once and was hooked BIG TIME. If you are a visual person, this is the game for you. Coming home after work, it is the perfect unstressing game. My husband and I play a game every night and it is wonderful, because NOBODY LOSES! We can even play 3 together. (My 8 year old granddaughter loves to play with me!) I highly recommend it! And if you like soduko, here is another way to play it!

One of this year’s best gifts

This game was bought for our 7-year-old (by her request) but we are ALL addicted to it in our house. It’s fun, challenging, and well-made. There are many different levels of difficulty for the puzzle cards provided — and there are over 100 puzzles included. Definitely one of my favorite purchases for this Christmas!

Love it!

I like this even better than traditional Sudoku – my husband and I have been playing together instead of watching TV. It’s a great game. Balls are a little difficult to get out of the plastic holder, but at least they’re not rolling off somewhere.

Colorful Food for your Brain
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My friend brought her Colorku up on a recent trip and I knew I had to have one. It is a beautiful piece of artwork just sitting on the coffee table even if the game is not finished. Everyone who comes over gets involved sooner or later. My husband and I try to do one puzzle everyday — we feel like it is challenging our brains. There is something about moving the pieces around and involving the tactile senses that makes it pleasurable and fun. Anyway, we never have to sharpen a pencil to work this colored variation of Sudoku. We enjoy it so much we plan on giving Colorku for gifts.

Really great in color – just one problem…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Sukoku is absolutely fun and addicting especially in color. This is a great idea but I had to actually paint over some of the colors to make them more distinguishable. Some of the colors were just too close in similarity and that made it difficult to play. For instance the red and orange were very close (I mean very) and so are the dark blue and dark green. Perhaps my vision isn’t as great as everyone else’s – LOL!! Anyhow, I quickly remedied the problem by painting the orange and dark blue balls! Other than that I just love it :-)

Sudoku fun
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great game for childen 6 and over as well as adults. It’s fun; it’s addictive. My adult friends and my grandchildren love it so it sits out on my coffee table for anyone to use. The game is very well designed, attractive and sturdy. My only caution is the colored balls are small and a potential choking hazard for small children and small animals; I strongly recommend that it not be left within their reach and be well supervised when in use. Also, it’s a good idea to provide a small bowl to hold the game balls while the game is being played because they easily roll off the table. Sudoku is a one person game usually but this format easily lends itself to two players who want to work together to solve the same puzzle. This game is now at the top of my gift list along with Rush Hour.Rush Hour

LeftBrain/Right Brain Challenge
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This game challenges the left and right side of the brain. You must organize and recognize the colors which is not as easy as the number version. I used the plastic cover to sort the colored balls but later I will place them all in a bowl which will make for a bigger challenge.

The only problem I have had is distinguishing colors on the puzzle cards. The contrast between colors should be sharper, bolder.

good game

Good game. The orange and red balls are a little too close in color but other than that, great way to play soduku. A lot better than numbers!

Great Value, Great Fun!

I bought this for my daughter, and she spends hours with it…. much less on TV, I might add. The game is sturdy, packs away well, and is very much mental challenge for her. I am really pleased with it, and so is she.

Wonderful ColorKu Game!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 11 year old niece received this for Christmas. We had so much fun playing with it; and it was nice to see strategy she used compared to mine. I bought two, one for me and one for my friends at a Real Estate Office to put in the conference room where people usually wait 30 minutes. At my birthday party, we had 12 different people fighting over who could study and play!

Husband is addicted to sudoku books, but this color board can sit out and the whole family is challenged. Will be buying more for gifts.

Addictive
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This game is addictive, but incredibly fun (if you like this kind of thing). My husband (who loves chess) and I play by ourselves, but join in if one of us gets stuck, or we play together (a nice change from watching tv together).

I have a bright 5 year old and she doesn’t quite get the whole concept yet (although it’s only a week old and my husband and I have been too obsessive to share or explain it), so I’m not sure it’s really for 6 year olds, as it stated somewhere.

I completely agree with another reviewer who said the balls are choking hazards. I’d also caution that they’re easy to lose (and no extra balls are included), so don’t let young children play around with it for both reasons.

Lastly, my real only complaint so far about the game is that the colors on the playing cards are sometimes hard to decipher: light green or dark green? Given your starting board affects the whole game, it’s crucial you get it right. So, I would ask the toy makers to either come up with a whole different color (black? gray?) or make the colors more decipherable on the playing cards.

If you have arthritis or if you have large fingers, it may be hard to pick up the balls off the tray, but that’s another minor thing.

Other than that, it’s great and I want to get it for all my friends!

Hooked on colors!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
ColorKu is a lot more fun than the classic numerical form of Sudoku –

I’m hooked on it! LOTS of puzzles are included with the game, along with

instructions on how to convert any regular Sudoku puzzle into this color

version. I’m a senior citizen, but my grandchildren love it, too!

A Great Twist on Sudoku
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have to agree with all of the reviewers. This is a terrific twist on conventional sudoku. It occupies a treasured place on my coffee table in front of the TV. The game appeals to all ages and is an instant magnet to visitors and family alike. I find my kids play it while watching TV or just hanging out. All my daughter’s friends can’t resist it when they come over to visit. The balls certainly will roll all over the floor if dumped so a bowl or something is helpful, and yes, they can be swallowed by young children, so you can’t leave it around if anyone is at that particular oral stage.

the only disappointment I had was that the wood had a flaw in it. The game itself is great and great fun.

I am addicted.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I originally bought one for my mother from a different retailer that arrived after Christmas. When it arrived I liked it so much, that I just kept it. The one I ordered from from these guys went to my mother. She really enjoys it too. The only complaint we have, is that on both games, the greens are hard to differentiate. I am going to use a marker to help remedy the situation.

Right-Brained Sudoku is a Winner!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Super logic game for all ages – Grandpa, dad, and grandson all just love it — you can play solo or duet (take turns trying to make a play).

Good antidote for kids who are glued to their gameboy. It’s sudoku for both left and right-brained folks — numbers are good for left-brainers, but the colors are better for others.

ColorKu Solid Wood Puzzle by Mad Cave Bird Games

Repeat of the others’ reviews. Great for all ages, strong quality, etc. I’m buying more as gifts ASAP.

If you use the clear marble holder, they can be difficult to remove and place on the game board, so I resort to a box or bowl to hold them.

It is a twist that you can’t jot “possiblities” in the boxes like you can with traditional number sudoku.

Also, I find that the greens are hard to distinguish light from dark – not on the marbles, but on the starter cards.

Nice Sudoku alternative
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a nice alternative for Sudoku fanatics. It is challenging in that there is no way to “record” or “pencil in” the answers you have narrowed down a spot to be, but fun.

We found it easier to work in pairs on this game which is too difficult on a tiny written sudoku puzzle. This is a fantastic logic game for children.

ONE PROBLEM: Ours came fully sealed, but was missing the first (the easiest, of course!) 15 Colorku puzzle starter cards. BUT, there is a chart with easy directions (very easy!) on how to convert your favorite sudoku puzzle into a Colorku puzzle.

Not good with small children around who will bump into it…really messes up your logical thinking.
