in Touch Screen Sudoku

Brand: GAriGrid LLC

GAriGrid® Sudoku has approximately 2700 puzzles in memory. The objective of SUDOKU is to enter a number from 1 through 9 in each empty SQUARE so that there are 9 different numbers in each horizontal ROW, 9 different numbers in each vertical COLUMN and 9 different numbers in each BOX which have 9 SQUARES each.

GAriGrid® Sudoku divides each SQUARE into nine subsquares numbered 1 through 9 as shown in the GAriGrid® map at the upper left corner of the Sudoku screen. GAriGrid® Sudoku provides a format to display all possible number entries for each SQUARE in these subsquares. GAriGrid® format is easier than using paper, pencil and eraser. more info

Display almost unreadable
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Although this product has all the features I was looking, for including pencil marks, I must rate this product low. Unless the backlight is ON the display is unreadable. Even with the backlight on the unit MUST be tilted at about a 45 degree angle before you can read the display, unlike most LCD displays I am used to which can be viewed from almost any angle.

If you can put up with the poor visibility the unit does function as advertised. Contains many puzzles of 5 different levels and allows the user to input puzzles from other sources. The ability to turn off the unit, then automatically resume that game when it is next turned on is a great feature. As is the ability to enter and erase pencil marks. I also found a method of automatically turning on all possible entries in a cell as pencil marks, however when I entered a value in a cell the corresponding pencil marks in other cells did not disappear (would be a nice option if they did).

The unit contains an FM radio which I feel is an unnescessary option, would much rather they replace it with an SD card slot so you could either save your entered games, or access games from other sources.

While I am pleased with the way the unit operates and the features available, due to the price (almost $40.00) I am returning the unit because of the poor visibility of the screen.
